greetings from mrs. stone
Hello! My name is Meagan Stone, the 3rd grade teacher at St. Andrew's School. For four years I taught 3rd grade at Blackwell Elementary for Richmond Public Schools as Ms. Oakes. In June 2013, I not only switched schools but I married my husband, Jed, who is a Henrico County firefighter. In October 2016, we will be welcoming a daughter our family.
In 2009, I graduated from VCU with a masters and bachelors degree in education. I have known since I was young that I would be a teacher and I enjoy it everyday. Third grade is my favorite because the students learn the basic skills that they will carry with them for the rest their lives.
I teach by example and respect all students that are in class every year.
We focus on memorizing math facts, reading comprehension, and fluency while exploring new concepts. In our class, we show respect and love to one another. We are problem solvers that take the initiative to learn what we are interested about. Our third graders enjoy hands-on math experiences, being passionate writers, and getting excited about reading. We also love to talk about Harry Potter, play chess, and become Greek god and goddesses.
